By, 2018-10-01

Buying a used car may be a risk for some, but thanks to continuous improvements in the automotive industry. Now you can know how many miles and distances the car has ride during its operation. When you intend to buy a used car, you should choose the car carefully and you can take a mechanic with you to test it well before buying it.

Buying a used car is not easy, as you have to check the car and all its internal and external parts such as lights, A\C, engine, radio and more.

Follow these tips before buying a used car

1. Examine the condition of the brake and fuel pads, car mats as well as the leather or fabric of seats, doors and roof. If you find these parts worn, this is a sign of poor care.

2. Make sure the basic tools are not missing, such as the owner's manual, spare tires, and tire tools. Some cars do not use a fuel caps but they contain a special funnel in case you want to add fuel to the vehicle on your own, so make sure there is a funnel.

3 - Check the tire wear level, and parallel tires.

4 - Listen to the sounds of the transmission when trying the car, if you heard a sound or felt  a friction of the internal parts of the transmission, it means that there is a problem in it.

5 - Stop the car hard after cutting 40 miles per hour and notice how the car stopped, will it stop in a straight line or will pull to one side.

6. Check engine oil and make sure it is transparent or honey-colored. If you notice that the oil is black and has a strange smell, it means that the car was not well maintained.

7. Check the area under the hood and make sure there is no leak of oil or cooling liquid. Note if there are parts that look new and newly replaced. The cooling liquid color should be bright, the color of brake fluid should be yellowish and does not contain impurities.

8. Check the transmission fluid, which must be transparent red. If you notice that its color is dark and there is a strange smell, it means that the car has been operated with a strong and a bad maintenance traffic.

9. Check the exterior of the vehicle and notice the color of the panels. You may also notice a difference in texture, not just color, and these marks indicate that the car had a crash or an accident.

10. Check the bottom of the doors from rust, and make sure that the space between the hood and the body of the car is close and even.
